Since technology is so important in our society, we need to incorporate in our classrooms on a regular basis. How do we fund such a critical part of education? Home Depot is not selling IPAD trees or computer ferns that I know of...
Hahaha! This is the 64 dollar question. It was already difficult to fund education to begin with...when you factor in thousands of $500 iPads, it could get even more difficult! However, I think certain things (i.e. textbooks) are going to slowly disappear and soon we will be reading on eReaders and iPads. In some cases, a $79 Kindle may be cheaper than a hardcover textbook! It's interesting. But with the state of the economy, we definitely have to make some adjustments on our resources.
I think to find the correct amount of funding needed to incorporate all the needed technology in a classroom will be hard because already there aren't very many funds available to things in education so i think there will have to be some shifting done
One positive aspect of this situation is that the prices of electronic devices tend to decrease over time. Though schools may only be able to afford older technologies, that's still better than none at all.
I totally agree!! All of this technology can be an amazing tool, but it is SO expensive!
